Reverted Reference Links[edit]

I reverted the vandalized reference links. 98.235.186.8 (talk) 02:19, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Dear Lost Saga North America players, It is with great sadness that we must announce the closure of the LSNA game service on September 13th, 2019. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all our users for supporting our game as well as our team from the very beginning. Lost Saga is exactly that and it did a pretty good job at expanding its influence since it was released, because it managed to get from South Korea all over Asia and even to North America. In essence, it is an online fighting game, which means that players get together and share a good beating, in order to compete for currency and experience. Z8Games is a free gaming portal featuring hit titles like CrossFire. Join the free gaming evolution today! Want to checkout the new features in Lost Saga? What is this about?[edit]

Came over here checking a vandal's trail. As one of the unitiated, I have no idea what the heck you folks are writing about. Thought I ought to mention it. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 07:06, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

AfD and, or, references[edit]

I have placed an AfD and, or, Ref. improvement on this article because:

  1. It has no in line references at all
  2. It looks as if it has been developed by the company concerned, including cut and paste from company material.

This page is for ENGLISH proper transliterations only[edit]

Hereby, the English page pertains to the base Korean content, released North American content and other English versions should publishers develop new English regions.

This means, English will be used as the standard, and the page will use THE PROPER ENGLISH TRANSLITERATIONS rather than 'double transliterations' from Hangul to Indonesian to English. (Most of which are wrong to begin with)

Lost saga pc

In the time I was gone, the page now reeks of improper mistranslations stemming from users of non-English versions of the game.

If you do not use an English version of Lost Saga (thereby you aren't from Canada or the U.S.), refrain from adding or modifying the CORRECT English translations and transliterations provided by the Developers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MontgomeryDalton (talk • contribs) 20:59, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Well, since the only noteworthy content in the game is apparently 'trivial trivia' there's no point to having a page.[edit]

Lost Saga Godlike

...Also, hilarious that you guys botched up the merge or whatever. The page still looks like the Lost Saga North America page I had made (because little do you guys know, the 6 versions have differing degrees of differences, with the Chinese being the most drastic, perhaps even better than the source material itself.)

The six (living) versions of the game aren't just carbon copy clones with 'translations'.

Lost Saga Ignited

Lost saga global

To illustrate the point better, the Chinese version of the game doesn't even go by the name Lost Saga.

I was angry with the vandal and proposed multiple solutions and even compromises, but yeah, I'm definitely a bad guy here, because I don't see no god damned report buttons.

JUST MY OPINION, but you guys botched hardcore.

Fighting games tend to have character lists, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that and trivializing the character list is detrimental in my personal opinion.

If you guys want to defend some vandal troll, go ahead, because this stumpy, unappealing, uninformative stump is terrible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MontgomeryDalton (talk • contribs) 02:29, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Feel free to cite some reliable video game sources (custom Google search) and make the article verifiable. – czar 02:56, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
If there are multiple regional versions, try writing about what they have in common. People from all over the world use Wikipedia. Also look at some of our good and featured video game articles to get a better idea what we're looking for. And when people disagree with you, assume good faith and try to reach a consensus through discussion. Reach Out to the Truth 21:28, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
I dunno. Wouldn't know the first thing about finding sources, since Google is a piece of garbage, and that CSE tool seemingly didn't show any of the sources that came to mind. Bleh, Google is always a mess whenever I use it. 'First Party sources are bad!' 'Random websites are bad!' Well, I'm not spending time to find the non-existent middle-ground of sources that Wikipedia wants.
I can confirm information. Trivia, nonsense, etc. I can tell when the page is being vandalized or when some posers (who have never even touched the game) are letting vandalism be, and giving me flak whenever I cleared vandalism.
I've got absolutely no intention of re-working the wiki page to be quite frank. Let me supervise the page? I'm cool with that, but if you don't want the page to be stumpy and, to be honest, poor, I'd rather just re-start the whole process.
So, let's discuss what's missing. Launch dates for non-English-region publishers. No mention of Sub-Developer, only the Lead-Developer. List of non-English-region publishers or whatever it counts as in the infobox params. Absence of story segment. Absence of gameplay segment. (Both of which were biasedly panned by some schlub who proceeded to just flat out delete the segments. I tried to write something flattering, short, and whatever. A small stub is all that's necessary if that's all there is to the story, right? I mean, look at Mortal Kombat, and tell me there's actually a story there outside of the Lore.) Lore/Story typically get lumped together to begin with. Uhm, let's see. Discussing the different versions and differences in it's own paragraph outside of the general section? It could be near the bottom of the page I guess? Character List should come back, because it's pretty much an integral aspect of most fighting games. The table (if the content returns) could be arranged better, I spent a lot of time playing around with making it as appealing as humanly possible. I'm thinking about breaking down the various aspects of the article and taking advantage of a checklist maybe, or some better arrangement. I personally don't know how to go about it. I don't know, don't just pan it if I'm experimenting with the whole BOLD Revert Discuss thing. We're all cool here right? Except that vandal guy. He can shove off. -MontgomeryDalton (talk) 23:38, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
Start with what you can verify in reliable, secondary sources. Any vital details (release dates, development info) that remains can be sourced to the developer's website. I'm afraid those tables were too much detail for what WP covers (see video game trivia examples). It may need to be short for now, but short and verifiable is better than a wall of unverifiable text. That said, if you put work into those tables and you think they can be useful, feel free to take them to another wiki, such as Wikia, which has different standards for content (tends to be more specialist than a general encyclopedia like WP). – czar 04:58, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
I'd start with these:
I recommend avoiding the repackaged press releases where at all possible – czar 05:03, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

In regards to the end of North American Lost Saga[edit]

I wanna be very clear about my decision to continue undoing changes past the end of NA Lost Saga, which was completely shut down by Z8Games on September 13th, 2019.

First off, to anyone not explicitly English-fluent, and ESPECIALLY those who never played NA Lost Saga: STOP MAKING CHANGES. NALS aside, Wikipedia is literally the dead last place for broken English. On top of that, the English Wikipedia is also the dead last place for information about versions of Lost Saga that differ from the one released in North America. Changes that originated from the Korean versions of the game that eventually came to NA are acceptable, but things dealing with Korean/Indonesian publishers/game hosts, content, or (especially) anything in those languages plugged into Google Translate don't belong here.

Second off, this is pretty straightforward: the North American version of Lost Saga is completely dead now. It no longer exists in any legal form. This article should reflect that very clearly.

Third off, while I disagree with the fact that a lot of the information in past versions of this article that was removed over time (primarily character classes) is irrelevant and more trivia than it is common knowledge, I think the rules implemented should stay if they're going to. Unless someone plans on completely overhauling the article to make it look as good as any other fighting game's does, with picture examples and whatnot, I think it should remain law of the English Lost Saga Wikipedia article that this page continue to look stumpy.

Fourth off, if you're coming here from any non-NA version of Lost Saga, please go to your own language's Lost Saga Wikipedia page to add changes here. This article is not the place for you to make your edits. If you aren't EXPLICITLY from North American Lost Saga and aren't fluent in speaking the English language, you should not be making changes here.

Am happy to converse with anyone related to my statements. Have a great day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.51.240.32 (talk) 05:00, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
